What are web directories?
Web directories are similar to search engines, but they are edited by people.
Submitting to web directories will ensure that your site is included in all major search engines and can give your site higher rankings on those search engines.
Recommended web directories
The following web directories were compiled from various web directory lists and must have a PageRank of 5 or higher on the main page when I add the directory. The PageRank may be different then when I added the directory so please check to make sure.
Many free web directories have a pay option where you may receive quicker inclusion.

Web directory submission tips
When attempting get listed in any of the web directories, it is important to read and follow their guidelines or your web page will be rejected. For most web directories you must navigate to the specific category before you can submit your web page.
Once your website is listed in web directories it is difficult to make changes to that listing. Make sure your description and title are both well written before you submit your website.
What are PageRank and link popularity?
PageRank (1-10) relates to the quantity and popularity of incoming links whereas link popularity looks at the content of incoming links. All major search engines, especially Google, are more inclined to give web pages with higher link popularity higher listings.
Submitting your web page to web directories is a great way to increase both link popularity and PageRank.
